Livestream footage of the Polymega and its modules running games and tech demos

The Issue

For those that are unaware, the Polymega (formerly the RetroBlox) is a modular software emulation-based home console designed to run games from the 3rd to the 5th generations of gaming consoles. However, directly before the preorders Playmaji had announced the removal of one of the console's main selling points: the FPGA. The FPGA was going to be used to read the cartridges and chips in real time, as stated in an interview shortly after the RetroBlox's initial reveal, at SoCal, while the CPU would handle the actual emulation of the devices.

The removal of the FPGA caused many to lose trust in the company on top an alleged screwup on the editing team's part had caused footage of an arcade emulator of Sega Rally to sneak into the preorder trailer of the console. However, Playmaji has attempted to somewhat regain peoples' trust by showing off footage of Sega Rally and other games running on real Saturn hardware. However, people were still skeptical about this, and thought think it would be best to show off footage of a prototype console and some prototype modules emulating the games. That never happened.

Following months of radio silence on Playmaji's side, they finally announced on March 12, a month before the proposed release date, that there would be news coming the next week. But all wasn't well and good.

Shortly after when replying to comments favoring the also-upcoming Mega Sg, the person in charge of PR (who was initially requested to be fired in earlier versions of this petition) responded with criticism mostly surrounding the lack of 32X support. This doesn't sound too awful, but this is just the tip of the iceberg. One comment telling them "If it's not FGPA support, I'm not listening." was met with a cold, angry comment telling them to "get smart" and argued about the limitations of an FPGA, criticizing it for techical limitations and the inability for Analogue to add 32x support.

This was followed by more nasty comments which claimed that they were being attacked by Analogue's "gestapo" (people unfamiliar with the term, this is basically calling Analogue fans Nazis and Analogue Hitler), calling the tweets "foul-mouthed" and "slanderous", and other nasty comments that only serve to damage the reputation of the company. The PR Guy (believed to be Playmaji CEO Bryan Bernal) even went on to call videos, one of the few things that could actually somewhat restore their now-shattered reputation, "small ideas" that they are "personally uninterested in" (if you think I'm bullshitting you, here's the source).

Playmaji, I feel the only action that will be able to even remotely mend your reputation would be to livestream the games and actually show people you playing them, on all modules, all platforms. The only way to solve this PR disaster is to prove to people that the Polymega can do what you can claim. Just simply posting a video won't be enough. And I'm not talking about streaming directly from HDMI output. I mean using a camera to stream actual visible controller use, getting close to the controller and demonstrating the inputs and showing that the Polymega actually works, getting close to the community instead of leaving them in dead silence.

And to the community, whether you are a mild skeptic or a devoted supporter, I call for you to sign this petition so that we can get closer to a settlement of whether this is indeed the revolution Playmaji claims this will be, or another repeat of the Coleco Chameleon, I call on all of you to get Playmaji to do something that could bring the shine back to their rusted reputation.
