Please don't shut down Marvel: Avengers Alliance

The Issue

I am creating this petition to ask that Disney, Marvel, and Playdom reconsider canceling Marvel: Avengers Alliance for Facebook and phone.  Please take a new look at the ardent and enthusiastic fandom that you have created around your game.  This is a (large) group of people that still wants to play your amazing game, and who can and will make it worth your while should you continue with production.

If there is something that we, as fans, can do to pressure the powers that be to change their minds, all you need to do is let us know.  We are nowhere near ready to lose Marvel: Avengers Alliance, a game that weadore and yearn to continue playing.

While I understand that these companies have a variety of other projects that need attention, Marvel: Avengers Alliance is still a viable - and valuable - product.  New characters have been released continuously, and a vibrant community continues to support this game.

The main Facebook page for M:AA has 4,105,548 likes.  As of now (Thursday September 1, 2016 at 1 PM Centreal) the most recent post has over 6.2 thousand responses.  There are dozens of active MAA Facebook groups on Facebook: more than 100 after a quick count. The M:AA Twitter account has 28.9K followers, and MAA Insiders has a further 24k.  A search for Marvel: Avengers Alliance on YouTube pulls up 67,000 videos.  There is a thriving wiki site dedicated to MAA: Avengers Alliance Wiki.  Similarly, Pinterest pulls up a huge number of responses when using MAA keywords as does Tumblr.  In fact, Tumblr has groups such as: Daily Dose of Marvel Avengers Alliance, Marvel: Avengers Alliance - Strategy Blog, Marvel Avengers Alliance Elite Team, Marvel Avengers Alliance.

Literally, this is a game that has multiple groups and fans on every single popular Internet hub.  It has an active and passionate fan base that is positively heartbroken that the game they love is being canceled.

According to GameHunters.club, Marvel: Avengers Alliance is the 52nd most popular game on Facebook, as can be seen here.  Facebook itself lists Avengers Alliance as the 80th most popular here, just below such well known games as Papa Pear Saga and Best Fiends.

Marvel: Avengers Alliance is not a failing game.  This is a viable game that is fully capable of supporting itself and creating profit for Playdom and Disney.

As a daily player, I beg that all controlling parties reconsider the decision to discontinue support.  I understand that there are other games such as Marvel: Avengers Alliance 2, etc., but these are no replacement for the original.

White Tiger was only just released as of Thursday, September 1, 2016.  Faiza Hussein was released in late July, while Worthy Black Knight, aka Mokk, Breaker of Faith and Worthy Ghost Rider, aka Greithoth, Breaker of Wills were released just this month along with Ronan the Destroyer and the long-awaited Chapter 12 in August.

There are still hundreds - thousands, even - of amazing characters and plot lines that can be worked into this enormously popular game.  If other players are anything like me, closing M:AA isn't going to make was want to play M:AA 2, which I currently have no interest in.  Similarly, I have had no interest in Contest of Champions, which I downloaded and found myself underwhelmed with.  I, and many others, have spent a great deal of time and both physical and emotional energy playing Marvel: Avengers Alliance and I ask - no, I beg - that the powers that be reconsider canceling the game.  It is one of the few that I can play via Facebook, as well as one of the few games I play on a daily basis.

Thank you in advance for your consideration.

E-mail Disney Interactive yourself and let them know what you think of their decision to shut down M:AA: https://help.disney.com/en_US/Marvel/Contact?productCode=Marvel-Avengers-Alliance-Facebook

For those of you who have pointed out that there is another petition circulating: I am aware of its existence and support it whole-heartedly!  I feel as though my petition reaches certain parties that the other does not, but I support signing both petitions.  Here is a link to that petition, which I hope that you will take the time to sign: SAVE MAA!
