As we all know plastic is one of the things that seems like an awesome invention at first but is extremely harmful over time. Many of us don't know how harmful plastic is. Plastic does not biodegrade in less than a century. It is made of carbon and hydrogen, top factors of global warming. Every corner of the world is filled with plastic. Between 4.8 and 12.7 million tons of plastic pieces are dumped into our oceans yearly.

Now that plastic is so common we can only prevent it from spreading further. To do this we need to spread awareness. I think we should all take an active part in this. Let's all make a commitment to give up using plastic bags, cups, and other disposable items. Use a different option; have everyone use steel cups, jute bags, or cloth bags. We should stop using plastic and prevent future generations from doing the same. Lets make this petition go to each person of our county and then to the world!
