A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has generously contributed their time and voice to the Campaign for Smart and Mindful Development in Plantation. As those of you experienced in matters of local politics know, it might be apt to recall Ralph Waldo Emerson’s teaching that: “Patience and fortitude conquer all things.” In that vein, we encourage each of you to appear at Plantation’s Planning & Zoning Board Meeting Tuesday, February 2 at 7:00 p.m. A direct link to the Zoom meeting can be found at our friends and neighbors site:

Just a brief recap on your success to date:
9/1/20: Planning & Zoning Staff issued its first report recommending DENIAL of the BCSB/Lennar application to build 111 units at Hiatus & Broward.
9/1/20: Planning & Zoning Board “tabled” the application requiring Lennar to consider scaling down the project to meet YOUR demand that the proposed development meet the underlying 3 density/units to the acre land use plan.
12/1/20: Planning & Zoning Staff issued its second report recommending DENIAL of the BCSB/Lennar application to build 111 units at Hiatus & Broward.
12/2/20: Planning & Zoning Board “tabled” the application requiring Lennar to consider scaling down the project to meet YOUR demand that the proposed development meet the underlying 3 density/units to the acre land use plan.
1/23 - 1/26/21: Lennar, in fact, did meet with several neighboring associations in successive Zoom meetings. At each meeting, Lennar heard from members of the community, who like YOU, vehemently objected to the dense scale and attached Multi-Family nature of the project.
Prospective Calendar:
2/2/20: Expected that Planning & Zoning Staff will, again, recommend DENIAL (for a third time) of the BCSB/Lennar application to build 111 units at Hiatus & Broward.
2/2/20: Upcoming Planning & Zoning Board Meeting: MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD!
Some have asked, what happens if the Planning & Zoning Board recommends DENIAL of the BCSB/Lennar application. Should that occur, the Applicant can proceed to City Council and request that Council OVERRIDE all the Staff and Planning + Zoning Board's DENIAL recommendations and, essentially rule against the WILL OF THE PEOPLE (that is, YOU). In anticipation of that move, we would now look forward to that next round. We would ask each of you to send your emails in opposition to the project to the following councilpersons, the Mayor and City Staff at the following email addresses at this time so there is no question but that the surrounding neighborhoods are unanimous in their opposition to this 111 noxious ATTACHED Row Townhouse project. The contact information is, as follows: https://www.plantation.org/government/city-council/contact-city-council This is a link to send to the council via a “form”. So perhaps draft something and go here to go through the form. Or email from your email to:
eanderson@plantation.org Eric Anderson
dhorland@plantation.org Denise Horland
Jandreu@plantation.org Jennifer Andreu
Tfadgen@plantation.org Tim Fadgen
nsortal@Plantation.org Nick Sortal

Note the Mayor seems to have withdrawn her email from the City's website. The Mayor's last known email listed on Plantation.org website
was mayor@plantation.org (This was the past email for years, not listed anymore, but try it).
Sslattery@plantation.org Susan Slattery, City Clerk
dholmes@plantation.org. Danny Holmes, City Planning Manager
Thank you for your continued support and your steadfast engagement,
