Kilifi is county number 003. Kilifi is now experiencing the worst drought ever in ages. This is due to massive deforestation which has been taking place and still ongoing. Charcoal burning is the main cause.

Residents in Bamba, Ganze, Marafa do charcoal burning as their main economic activity. Due to this the number of trees as greatly decreased. We argue the County government in partnership with the National government to declare the deforestation on going as a County disaster. Suspend Charcoal burning for two years and do serious afforestation.
