My friend Gina Spyropoulos and her husband Deno are trying to open Denos Restaurant on the corner of Independence & Legacy, in the Kroger shopping center. They selected the location where the old fitness center was and have built a beautiful restaurant with an inviting outdoor patio.

Deno's is a family run business that will offer American and Greek cuisine. They will serve lunch and dinner during the week and offer breakfast and brunch on the weekends. Deno recently sold his East Plano, Deno’s location so he could focus on the new full service restaurant near our neighborhood.

Look at that patio! Think about how nice it will be to enjoy a salad or Gyro on a beautiful summer evening with friends and family!

I have lived in this area for over 20 years and love that we are attracting local restaurants such as Salsa and Mooyah. It is so nice to be able to walk to a restaurant for dinner. It’s even nicer to not have to head to Frisco or down Preston for a great meal.

Unfortunately, the Legacy Learning Day Care center owner has filed suit to keep Deno's from opening. He is afraid Deno’s will negatively affect our area. I believe having an empty store front negatively impacts our area and having a family restaurant close by is an asset!

If you feel the same way, please sign this petition. We need to let the courts know that the community has as much of a say as a Day Care center owner, who is over 400 feet away and in a secluded part of the mall.
