Stop Dominos Pizza in Westbury-on-Trym! Unneeded, unwanted!

The Issue

Dominos Pizza have won the right to open yet another store, this time in the heart of Westbury-on-Trym. Prior to this the nearest one was five minutes drive away and they deliver. Another one so close is not necessary. They won this decision on planning appeal after Bristol City Council chose not to grant planning permission to them, based in part on local residents' views. In order to get this latest decision by the Planning Inspectorate overturned it looks like a battle in the High Court is the only option. This is likely to be expensive and crowd funding is likely to be necessary so please donate if you can. However at the least please sign this petition to show the inspectorate the voice of local people again. The exorbitant price of rent for shops, plus high business rates, is leading to an influx of big chains and franchises in the village. This is leading to empty premises or properties taken over by big businesses as local businesses and local traders are priced out of the area. We want to maintain our village, which has always had a plethora of independent shops, in the character it has always enjoyed. If further chains are allowed to establish the rents will rise further. Say No to Dominos and Yes to Keeping BS9 Local
