The destruction of more and more Green Field Sites for housing development or for any other reason is completely unacceptable.

Historically and recently there has been a huge demises of wildlife habitats and green field sites (as well as sites of historical interest) throughout Torfaen, Wales and more widely in the UK.

In these days of a Climate Crises there is a desperate need to decrease our carbon footprint, building development on Green Field Sites must stop.

Torfaen County Borough Council's Replacement Local Development Plan indicates that there may be an additional 4863 residential dwellings, of which 2847 are building ON GREEN FIELD SITES (Cefn Perthy 850, Usk Road, New Inn 632, Craig Y Felin 668, Llanfrechfa 697 plus hotel / conference centre / mediparc.

This is in addition to many other recent housing developments, including the site at South Sebastopol, which will comprises of 1200 residential dwellings, again on Green Field sites.

We appeal to everyone to listen to their conscience, and to refuse to take part in the destruction of nature and the erosion of our children and grandchildren’s quality of life.

The insatiable greed for more and more wealth is completely immoral and must end.

Please help us to stop Torfaen County Borough Council allowing the destruction of our green and beautiful area.
