Brighton & Hove Council to reject application for 5G masts on our block and home CoombeLea

The Issue

We the undersigned petition Brighton & Hove Council to not grant planning permission to put these unsightly masts on the roof of our home against the wishes of the residents and others who will be impacted long term if consent is granted.

Justification:

1.Coombe Lea is our home and we object to the way that we were informed by MBNL that it was a suitable site for their convenience, and that there was nothing we could do. MBNL have demanded access for a proper survey, how much proper search of alternative non resident sites has been done?

2.Most of our 80 flats are lived in permanently by families with children, and many elderly residents who may be adversely affected health wise by the close proximity of the mast.

3.Masts of this nature should be sited on office blocks or similar buildings that do not have 100% occupancy.

4. We are in the middle of a conservation area. Frontage of our block has been maintained since the 60's with this in mind. This mast will also spoil the look and feel for many who live nearby or walk down the Avenue.

5. Residents of neighbours Grand Avenue Mansions will also be affected visually and possibly health wise by the close proximity of the concentrated radiowaves etc from the mast.

7. As well as the disruption at installation, we will be subjected to frequent invasion of maintenance engineers in the future.

8. Once one set of masts is installed others will generally follow from other operators. This is not acceptable on a home with permanent residents.
