CALL TO ACTION: Planet Fitness prides itself as a "100% Judgement Free Zone" where "anyone should feel welcome." At the recently opened Foley, AL location they have a total of 18 televisions that show 9 channels on 2 screens each. The channels are: Planet Fitness TV, Fox News, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, ESPN and two with channels like TBS or Bravo. We've politely asked for one of the televisions besides the Fox News television to be swapped for CNN or MSNBC so that multiple political viewpoints are represented. The club manager says the owner has decided "everyone" watches Fox News and "no matter what we do someone will always complain". An online request was returned saying that corporate takes responsibility for selecting television programming but local ownership has discretion to accommodate member requests. A quick search online will show that in many areas only 1 cable news network is made available causing frustration among members of all political stripes.
