More Bicycle Racks and better Footpath Maintenance in Avalon.
The issue
We need more bike racks and better pedestrian facilities in Avalon rather than more space for car parking.
More cyclists and pedestrians decrease traffic and leave more parking available for others.
The 3 car spaces outside Nourish, SkyThai and Starfish restaurants in Avalon Parade and the 3 car spaces opposite Ibiza Cafe in Old Barrenjoey Road would be better used if the footpath was widened and the space made available for public seats, and bike racks.
It stands to reason that if more car parks and roads "induce" more traffic, wouldn't more cycling and pedestrian facilities "induce" cycling and walking in our town with a better outcome for everyone?
