Pittsford as a whole doesn't do enough to celebrate the rich diversity of its population. Many of our community are people of different races, ethnicities, religions, genders, sexual orientations, cultural backgrounds, and more. We do not see ourselves represented as much as other groups. Specifically, we urge the people of Pittsford to talk to people of color, different religions, different sexual orientations, gender identities, and different cultures, and  understand their perspectives. This is imperative towards diversifying Pittsford, because by representing these perspectives, it will allow us to truly see and understand them, for many people, for the first time. The goal of this petition is to designate a day to identify and acknowledge the vast diversity of Pittsford by having conversation about the issues that are prevalent in our community.
