Pinellas Park Aircraft Noise Abatement Procedures

Pinellas Park Aircraft Noise Abatement Procedures
The Issue
Pinellas Park residents, the equine community who share our parks and land have been impacted directly by the increase of air traffic operations at St Pete/Clearwater International Airport (KPIE). With this increase of air traffic, the noise level has increased exponentially as well.
The increase of air traffic has engulfed what was once a quiet community with the loud (85+db) roar of aircraft engines created by the constant overflights of jet, turbo prop and helicopter traffic. The airport has developed noise abatement procedures for communities to the North (Safety Harbor), but has ignored Pinellas Park which is directly under the flight path of Runway 04/22. While not the common use runway, many military operations are conducting daily operations to runway 4.
The unique nature of Pinellas Park’s equine community is also directly at risk as the lower flying aircraft has caused issues for many of the existing farms in the area. Spooked horses, upset livestock, etc…
THE TIME IS NOW; that Pinellas Park residents and the equine community come together to demand the FAA, local air carriers, and other military agencies assigned to KPIE develop noise abatement procedures over Pinellas Park’s residential and farm communities.
If we don’t act now, we will continue to see a much larger increase to aircraft activity.
