As a safety precaution for our our neighborhood and our children especially, we would like a 4-way stop sign installed at the playground where Alder & Balsa intersect ASAP.  

Despite having 25 mph speed limit signs throughout the neighborhood, both residents and workers continue to fly up & down Alder drive at what seems like up to 35-40 mph during hours when the kids are playing in the streets and riding their bikes.  We feel having a 4-way stop sign would help to prevent drivers from speeding through the intersection, which has become a major problem.

In addition, this intersection is where the children and families of Alderwood walk and ride bikes to enter/exit the playground area, which is used daily in our community.  It is also the main bus stop for the children which is a huge concern, as school season is now upon us.  This is also right by our mailbox cluster as well.

We have a ton of children in our neighborhood and their safety should be our top priority and we feel these additional stop signs are a necessary and immediate need.
