A lawsuit brought against Julianne Jackson, founder of Greener Side Haven, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that takes in abused, sick, elderly, and unwanted animals, in January 2016 by the Pine Ridge Property Owners Association came to an end May 2 when Judge Patricia Thomas ruled that Jackson’s nonprofit can be considered a business by the association, and is therefore forbidden in Pine Ridge, where the home is located. However, the home is Julianne’s personal home and is also being used to give a home to the animals. The operation of the actual business is being conducted in another location. Judge Thomas granted the association’s request for an injunction, giving Jackson 30 days to remove the animals belonging to Greener Side Haven from her home and property. The 30 days will come to an end on June 1, 2018. The purpose of this petition is to have additional time granted in order to find a home for the animals. These animals were adopted and cared for by Ms. Jackson because no one else wanted them. Finding them a new home will not be easy and takes time. We ask that you sign this petition to help her receive the time needed to find them a home. She is requesting an additional 60 days.
