Justice for Carlos Adrian Ingram-Lopez

Justice for Carlos Adrian Ingram-Lopez
The Issue
On April 21, 2020 a 911-call for assistance with a mental health crisis resulted in the killing of 27-year-old, Carlos Adrian by Tucson police officers who restrained him facedown for 12-minutes. Two months after his killing, Tucson Police Department (TPD) learned that a story would be published by the media. On June 24, Chief Christopher Magnus made a statement and revealed the disturbing TPD body camera footage to the public.
In the video, Mr. Ingram-Lopez repeatedly asked for help, water, and said he couldn't breathe. Instead of TPD providing medical assistance to Ingram-Lopez, the officers held him facedown, hand-cuffed, covered in blankets with a spit-guard hood over his head that slowly suffocated him to death. With his last breaths Ingram-Lopez called out for his grandmother “Nana Ayudame" and uttered “I can’t breathe." Almost four months have gone by and no charges have been filed against the officers involved in Ingram-Lopez's killing.
By signing this petition, you demand the following actions:
1. Criminal charges must be filed immediately against Jonathan Jackson, Samuel Routledge, and Ryan Starbuck. Others involved in the death and subsequent coverup of Ingram-Lopez's death must also be held criminally liable.
2. Ingram-Lopez's family must be financially compensated for Ingram-Lopez's wrongful death at the hands of the Tucson Police Department.
