PLEASE CONSIDER MAKING A TAX-DEDUCTIBLE DONATION AND JOIN OUR EFFORTS TO REVIVE PIER 5!

The Pier 5 Association has been self funding its efforts to date to raise awareness and are gratified by the amount of attention, neighborhood support and press coverage that we have received.

It is now time to scale up our endeavors to the next level. To that end, we are happy to announce that we have applied for and received tax exempt status as a 501(c) 3 organization and can now accept contributions that are tax deductible for the donor.

Going forward, there is much work that needs to be done to continue to bring the vision of Pier 5 as an open and iconic public space to reality.

There are regulatory issues that need further exploration and legal expenses associated with that effort; we need to engage consultants on engineering and design issues and to continue our ongoing efforts in media outreach and neighborhood awareness.

To accomplish this, we must ask for support from our friends and neighbors to help us pay for these expenses and to continue our outreach efforts. We hope you will join us in our efforts to bring to reality a vision for Pier 5 as an iconic, open space public park that can honor its history and breath taking location.

The Pier 5 Association has been waging a quarter century fight to return Pier 5 to the public. We are aware of the the major issues involved in this effort and will target our efforts appropriately.
