I strongly support rebranding and improving the airport. Since most airports are named after cities and are consistent with their airport codes (LAX, SFO, RDU, CLT ...), it seems clear that our airport should be called Greensboro International. I understand that High Point and Winston-Salem might feel slighted, so what if we named certain areas of the terminal or surrounding roads after famous people from each city? Famous citizens such as John Coltrane, R.J. Reynolds, Dolley Madison and O. Henry could be featured prominently throughout the terminal. Let’s not choose another long, tiresome, generic airport name. Let’s make the clear and obvious choice, but also remember to honor the other great cities in the Triad in different creative ways.
