Morristown Skate Park

The Issue

Problem
For years local skateboarders and BMX riders have gone into town meeting to try to open up a skatepark In Morristown. The nearest Skate Park is in Chatham New Jersey, and is closing down by April. I am a BMX rider myself. Without a skatepark... we go out an ride "street spots." A street spot is an obstacle in the town such as a ledge, or stairset. The problem with this is, security and the MTPD kick us out of these spots giving us nowhere to ride. When I'm riding sometimes people come up to me and chew me out for "destroying" the ledges or "historic buildings." We don't intentially "ruin" these things. When there is not s skatepark, we have to go out and ride things that we can trick off of. I much rather have a skatepark to ride, and I'm sure at least 90% of the community members would agree with me. They would rather see us in an area ment to be ridden, than riding ledges or street spots around town. By signing this petition, you can help back me up for the next attempt in the town meetings.

Solution
We need as many people to agree, so that way we have more leverage and proof of our case. Spreading the word also is a great factor to our success

Personal story
I've been riding BMX for about 4 years. My buddies and I ALWAYS get kicked out of Chatham skatepark because they don't allow bikes. We go out and mob the streets, hitting spots all night.
