The Issue
One of the symbols that represents our country, Philippines, is our national bird, the Philippine Eagle. It was named the “National Bird of the Philippines” in 1995 and it owns the title, “The King of the Birds.” It is also one of the rarest birds in the world with an estimated number of population fewer than 500 individuals.
Philippine eagle is only found here in the Philippines. From the 7,000 islands that can be found in the country, the Philippine eagle can be found on only four of them, the northern and the eastern region.
Philippine Eagle is a predator, and plays a big and important role in our environment. They are known to be an umbrella species which means they can protect other wildlife animals. If we conserve and protect the Philippine eagle, we are also protecting other wildlife animals and plants.
The eagle that is known to be the king, also holds the title for being one of the most endangered raptors in the world because the status population of this species is critically endangered.
Human activities such as deforestation and shooting have caused to put these birds into extinction. If these activities will continue, the King of the Birds will be extinct. They badly needed our help and because they live naturally in our country, we, Filipinos, should help them to survive. Our support such us providing help to an animal foundation or a habitat for animals foundation or any organization that can help these birds are necessary and will surely be a big help for their survival.
A person has a life, as well as the animals. We are living things that needs to survive and live peacefully in our world.
Person needs animals, and the environment. And the environment and animals need us. We need each other in able for us to survive as we can provide each others' needs.
