Ensure that flights are on time and passengers are promptly notified of long delays

Philippine Airlines is the country's flag carrier and its dominant airline. But PAL has taken on a new meaning -- Plane Always Late -- because of its flight delays, often for hours. The delays are regular and are often unannounced, with passengers only notified about long delays when they've already checked in at airports, many of which lacked facilities for the passengers' comfort and welfare. Perhaps PAL does not realize that its delays are affecting people's lives. It often announces delays with a seeming lack of compassion and respect for passengers. Sometimes, the airline does not even have the decency to apologize for delays. Wouldn’t it make a big difference if PAL notifies its passengers in advance via SMS if and when the flight is delayed or canceled, especially if the plane has not even left its point of origin?
