BRUXELLES DOIT S’ENGAGER À ACCUEILLIR LES PERSONNES RÉFUGIÉES ET DEMANDEUSES D’ASILE COINCÉES SUR LES HOTSPOTS DE LA MER ÉGÉE 

Les îles de la Mer Égée traversent une crise humanitaire extrêmement grave. Celle-ci n’est pas nouvelle, elle ne fait qu’empirer depuis les cinq dernières années. Aujourd’hui environ 40 000 personnes demandeuses d’asile et réfugiées survivent dans des situations sanitaires particulièrement alarmantes : camps surpeuplés, accès à l’eau et aux soins dramatiquement insuffisants, délais d’attentes interminables, etc … 

Ces îles ne sont pas épargnées par la pandémie de Covid-19. Les conditions sanitaires déplorables des camps rendent l’ensemble des personnes présentes extrêmement vulnérables au virus. 

Comme si ce n’était pas suffisant, en mars et avril dernier, quatre incendies se sont déclenchés dans les camps de Moria (Lesbos), Vathy (Samos) et Vial (Chios). En plus de devoir survivre à des conditions extrêmes, des milliers de personnes ont aujourd’hui perdu la totalité du peu de biens matériels qui leur restait.

Si nous reconnaissons la participation de la Belgique dans la relocalisation en cours d'un nombre limité de mineurs étrangers non-accompagnés présents sur les îles, ce n'est pas suffisant. Cela ne résout ni le problème de surpopulation des camps, ni les conditions sanitaires effroyables dans lesquels les personnes sont condamnées à survivre. L’ensemble de la population des camps étant vulnérable, c’est l’ensemble de la population qui doit être évacuée !

L’Europe ne peut pas abandonner à leur sort les 40 000 enfants, femmes et hommes qui se trouvent dans ces camps. Il est indispensable que des mesures courageuses soient prises le plus rapidement possible !

Notre devoir moral est d’agir : Europe Must Act !

Lors de nos précédentes campagnes, nous avons fait pression pour un changement au niveau de l'union européenne. Nos échanges avec les dirigeants européens nous ont appris qu'ils sont hésitants car ils estiment entre autre que l'aide aux personnes réfugiées et demandeuses d’asile ne bénéficie pas d'un large soutien parmi les citoyens européens. Prouvons leurs qu'ils ont tort !

Le 30 mars, la ville de Berlin a déclaré être disposée à accueillir 1500 demandeurs d’asile et personnes réfugiées, à la suite d’une initiative citoyenne similaire. Nous demandons à toutes les villes Européennes de se joindre à cette initiative, et d’offrir refuge et sécurité aux personnes coincées dans les camps en mer Égée. 

Même si les villes n'ont pas le pouvoir législatif de relocaliser directement les personnes réfugiés elles-mêmes, #CitiesMustAct enverra un puissant message de solidarité citoyenne que les gouvernements et l'union européenne ne pourront ignorer !

Bruxelles va-t-elle rejoindre ce mouvement européen en s’engageant à accueillir un nombre concret et défini de personnes réfugiées et demandeuses d’asile sur son territoire ?

Ensemble, nous pouvons envoyer un message clair aux dirigeants de l’UE et aux gouvernements nationaux : Nous, Européens, voulons perpétuer les valeurs de solidarité à l’origine de notre union et ainsi offrir la sécurité à ceux qui fuient la guerre et la violation de leur droits fondamentaux. Continuons sur l’élan de solidarité qui émane de cette crise sanitaire actuelle, ne laissons pas celui-ci s’arrêter aux  frontières européennes ! Agissons !

Europe Must Act est un mouvement de plus de 160 organisations citoyennes qui soutiennent activement les réfugiés en Grèce et dans le reste de l’Europe. Confrontés aux manquements de l’UE et aux violations des droits de l’Homme, les membres fondateurs d’EMA ont décidés d’organiser une campagne pour une politique d’asile et d'immigration juste et humaine.

BRUSSEL MOET ZICH ERTOE ENGAGEREN VLUCHTELINGEN UIT DE EGEÏSCHE KAMPEN IN GRIEKENLAND OP TE VANGEN

Er is een humanitaire crisis gaande aan de grenzen van Europa. Momenteel zitten 40.000 asielzoekers en vluchtelingen vast op de Egeïsche eilanden in overvolle kampen met amper medische hulp en onvoldoende sanitaire voorzieningen. In de afgelopen weken zijn de kampen Moria (Lesbos), Vial (Chios) en Vathy (Samos) getroffen door branden. Duizenden mensen zijn hun onderdak en weinige bezittingen kwijt. De situatie is kritiek. Mensenlevens en mensenrechten staan op het spel.

Deze inhumane levensomstandigheden zijn het resultaat van 5 jaar EU-wanbeleid. Zelfs in het licht van de Covid-19-pandemie blijven EU-leiders aarzelend en onverschillig toekijken. De Europese Commissie werkt aan de evacuatie van 1600 onbegeleide minderjarigen naar EU-lidstaten. Dit is een stap in de goede richting; we erkennen dat de Belgische regering zich hiervoor engageert. 

De evacuatie van enkel onbegeleide minderjarigen is echter geen fundamentele oplossing. Het lost de overbevolking van de kampen en de water- en voedseltekorten niet op. De inhumane omstandigheden in de Egeïsche kampen maken alle bewoners, ongeacht leeftijd, gezondheid of nationaliteit bijzonder kwetsbaar voor Covid-19. Om levens te redden moeten de kampen op de Egeïsche eilanden volledig geëvacueerd worden.

Europa kan niet blijven toekijken terwijl de 40,000 kinderen, vrouwen en mannen in de kampen aan hun lot worden overgelaten.

Het is onze verantwoordelijkheid om te handelen: Europe Must Act!

Op 30 maart verklaarde Berlijn zich bereid om 1500 vluchtelingen en asielzoekers op te nemen. Nu vragen wij steden en gemeenten in heel Europa om zich bij Berlijn aan te sluiten en onderdak te bieden aan de vluchtelingen en asielzoekers die vastzitten in de overvolle kampen op de Griekse eilanden.

Sluit Brussel zich aan bij andere Europese steden door zich ertoe te engageren een concreet aantal vluchtelingen en asielzoekers op te vangen in haar rechtsgebied?

Samen kunnen we een duidelijke boodschap naar EU-leiders en nationale overheden sturen: dat Europa bereid en bekwaam is te handelen naar haar humanitaire waarden en veiligheid zal bieden aan mensen op de vlucht voor oorlog en vervolging.

BRUSSELS MUST COMMIT TO WELCOMING REFUGEES AND ASYLUM SEEKERS STRANDED IN THE CAMPS IN THE AEGEAN SEA

The Aegean Islands are currently experiencing a dire humanitarian crisis. Unfortunately, this is not a new crisis, but one that has been worsening over the last five years. Today, approximately 40,000 asylum seekers and refugees are surviving under extremely alarming sanitary conditions: overcrowded camps, inadequate access to water and health care, excessively long waiting times for food and showers, etc. These deplorable conditions render asylum seekers and refugees extremely vulnerable to the Covid-19 virus.

To make matters worse, in parallel with the pandemic, March and April of this year saw four fires break out in the camps of Moria (Lesbos), Vathy (Samos) and Vial (Chios). Thousands of people have now lost what little material possessions they had left.

While we acknowledge Belgium's pledge to accommodate a small number of unaccompanied minors from the refugee camps in the Aegean sea, it is not enough. This measure solves neither the problem of overcrowding in the camps, nor the appalling conditions under which these people are condemned to live. Given that the entire population of the camps are vulnerable, it is the entire population that must be evacuated.

Europe cannot abandon the 40,000 children, women and men to this fate. It is essential that courageous measures be taken as soon as possible!

It is our moral duty to act: Europe Must Act!

In our previous campaigns, we have pushed for changes directly at the European institutions. Yet the exchanges with our EU leaders have demonstrated that they are reluctant to act; they feel as if there is no support among the citizens of Europe to help refugees and asylum seekers, to help human beings who are fleeing war, persecution and poverty. Let’s prove them wrong!

On 30 March, following a successful citizens' initiative, the city of Berlin declared its willingness to welcome 1500 asylum seekers and refugees. We call on all European cities to join this initiative and to offer a safe haven and security to those trapped in the horrid camps in the Aegean Sea.

Even if European cities do not have the legislative power to directly evacuate refugees themselves, #CitiesMustAct will send a powerful message that national governments and the EU cannot ignore!

Will Brussels join this European movement of citizen solidarity by committing to receive a concrete and defined number of refugees and asylum seekers?

Together, we can send a clear message to EU leaders and national governments: We Europeans want to strengthen and extend the values of solidarity that brought us together. We want to offer refuge and safety to those fleeing war, and protect their fundamental human rights. Let us continue the momentum of solidarity that is arising from the current Covid-19 crisis; let us not let it stop at the borders of Europe! The time to act is now!

Europe Must Act is a movement of more than 160 citizens' organisations that actively support refugees in Greece and the rest of Europe. Confronted with the failings of the EU and human rights violations, the founding members of EMA decided to organise a campaign for a just and humane asylum and immigration policy.

لابد من مدينة بروكسل الالتزام بالترحيب باللاجئين العالقين في معسكرات بحر ايجه. 

تعاني الجزر الواقعة في بحر ايجه من أزمة  إنسانية مؤلمة، وبكل اسف هذه ليست ازمة  جديدة، حيث تزايدت الازمة سوءاً خلال الخمس سنوات الأخيرة.

وفي الوقت الراهن يتجاوز عدد اللاجئين هناك 40,000 لاجئ. حيث يعيشون في ظروف صحية منذرة بالخطر: معسكرات مكتظة، رعاية صحية غير كافية، صعوبة في الحصول على المياه كما وأنهم يقضون اوقات طويلة في انتظار أدوار الطعام وكذلك الاستحمام. هذه الظروف المؤسفة تجعل طالبي اللجوء عُرضه للإصابة بفيروس اكثرCovid19 كورونا 

والذي جعل الامر أسوء انه وبالتوازي مع الوباء قد شهد شهر مارس وابريل من هذه السنة اندلاع عديد من الحرائق في مخيمات  اللاجئين في موريا (ليزفوس)، فاثي (ساموس) وكذلك فيال(كيوس) حيث أجبرت هذا الحرائق المئات من اللاجئين لخسارة ممتلكاتهم البسيطة التي ابقوها اثناء رحلتهم.

كما ونعترف ان تعهد بلجيكا في استضافة عدد قليل من اللاجئين القاصرين الغير مصطحبين، هو أمر ليس كافٍ لحل الازمة حيث أنه لا يحل مشكلة الاكتظاظ في المخيمات ولا يُحسن من الظروف المروعة التي تحتم على هؤلاء الناس العيش فيها. وباعتبار ان جميع سكان المخيمات معرضون للخطر يجب إجلائهم جميعا.

لا يمكن لأوروبا ان تدع 40,000 لاجئ من النساء والأطفال والشيوخ ان يُعانوا مصيرهم هذا. ومن الضروري ان تتخذ أوروبا تدابير حازمة ومستعجلة تجاه ذلك.

فهو واجبنا الاخلاقي ان نتحرك،  لا بد لأوروبا ان تتحرك.

خلال حملاتنا السابقة دُفعنا للتغيير الفوري في المؤسسات الأوروبية، ومع ذلك أظهرت التبادلات بين قادة الاتحاد الأوروبي انهم مترددون في التحرك، يشعرون وكأنهم لا يجدون الدعم من مواطنين أوروبا لمساعدة اللاجئين لمساعد هؤلاء اللذين هربوا من الحرب، الاضطهاد والفقر. دعونا نثبت انهم مخطئين.

 في ال30 من مارس بعد مبادرة المواطنين الناجحة، قد صرحت برلين عن استعدادها في استضافة 1500 لاجئ. نحن نحث جميع المدن الأوروبية بالاقتداء والانضمام لهذه المبادرة وتوفير الأمن والأمان لهؤلاء المحاصرين في تلك المخيمات البشعة في جزر بحر ايجه.

على الرغم من ان المدن الأوروبية ليس لديها القدرة على اتخاذ قرار بإجلاء اللاجئين مباشرة إلا انها قادرة على إرسال رسالة قوية لا يمكن للحكومات الوطنية والاتحاد الأوروبي تجاهلها.

هل ستنضم بروكسل الى الحركة الاوروبية لتضامن المواطنين من خلال الالتزام باستقبال عدد محدّد من اللاجئين؟!

معا نتمكن من إرسال رسالة واضحة لقادة الاتحاد الاوروبي والحكومات الوطنية, نحن الأوروبيون نريد تقوية ونشر قيم التضامن التي جمعتنا سوياً، كما ونريد ان نوفر الملجأ والأمان لهؤلاء الذين هربوا من الحرب، وحماية حقوقهم الإنسانية الاساسية، دعونا نستمر في التضامن الناشئ من الازمة الحالية وان لا نتوقف عند حدود اوروبا، تحركوا الآن، أعيدوا حقوقهم الإنسانية الأساسية.
