Tell Philly Commissioners: Hands off FDR Park

Tell Philly Commissioners: Hands off FDR Park
The Issue
News broke yesterday that Philadelphia's bid for a FIFA world cup location contains a plan to destroy significant portions of FDR Park in South Philadelphia. (read more: https://whyy.org/articles/could-phillys-world-cup-bid-mean-an-end-to-fdr-parks-beloved-wild-meadow/ This park is one of the best (and few) large green spaces in Philly. It is a spot for families, nature lovers, dog walkers, migratory birds, and much more! We need to make it clear to Parks and Recreation Commissioner Kathryn Ott Lovell, Friends of FDR Park, Philly city council, and anyone else with the power to prevent this project from moving forward- that Philly citizens don't want to see this beautiful space taken over by long construction, more noise/light pollution, and vast destruction of the natural ecosystem, all to make way for concrete and astroturf. I don't want to wait until they bring out the bulldozers to make some noise about these plans and the damage they will do to the park, the people, and the wildlife. Please sign, share, and consider writing to the city councilperson in your district: let them know we want developers' hands-off FDR park!
