Elephants suffer brain damage in captivity!

Nonhuman Rights project (NhRP), a civil rights organization in the United States dedicated to securing rights for nonhuman animals, invited Prof. Bob Jacobs for a webinar recently where he talks extensively about the immense damage to elephant brains in captivity, specifically zoo elephants.

Dr. Bob Jacobs, is an expert whose research areas include language acquisition, nonhuman communication, cognitive neuroethology, comparative neuroanatomy, and animal welfare. You can read his paper on neural consequences of captivity for elephants and cetaceans here.
