We want to make a larger budget for mental health programs in Philippines. Every year, millions of Filipinos are affected by mental illnesses. We could introduce compulsory mental health screenings at an early age, to find who has mental illnesses, and who needs treatment. Then, we could provide some monetary aid to the people who need it. This could all be achieved with a income tax of 0.25%, or we could ease our way into it with a tax that requires even less. 90% of suicides are preformed by people who were influenced by their mental illnesses. Most of these mental illnesses go unnoticed before the incident, giving the family no chance to stop the suicide. Screenings would fix this.With this new tax, someone I was very close to would still be here today. With this tax, thousands of innocent people, people who lived in our country, served our country, and loved our country would be here today, urging us on, pushing our country to be better than it started out. Our country started as a group of good people trying to do good things. Why don't we keep that legacy going, as good people, doing good things, making our town, country, and world a better place than the one we came into.
