When you login to Change.org, the website might ask you to "Chip in" to Promote the Petition. You should be aware that any money donated goes towards "promoting" the petition to everyone who logs in to Change.org from anywhere in the world, there is no way to target the promotion just to our local area.

None of these funds are received by the ProtectHyattsvilleParks.org group that is working on this issue. In fact we can't even see who has promoted the petition and how much money has been donated.
