The Hyattsville Environment Committee is having an emergency meeting tonight at 7pm in the Pragley Room at City Hall (4310 Gallatin St. Hyattsville).
This meeting is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
This committee is appointed by the Hyattsville City Council for the explicit purpose of protecting the city's valuable green spaces. This is a great opportunity, within walking distance for some of us, to be heard about this issue.
If you can't make it in person, you can also call or email Dawn Taft, who is the City Administration's staff liaison with the Hyattsville Environment Committee. Here is a link to her contact information.
This is a first step in engaging with the decision-makers at the City-level. In coming days I'll post about more ways in which we can make sure that City, County and PGCPS decision-makers don't ignore the strong opposition to this proposal in the community.

Thank you all for supporting this petition!
We are getting close to our first milestone of 500 supporters, once we reach that level of support Change.org will automatically email the 22 decision-makers. This will be a great milestone! But to have a real impact we need to get over 1,000 supporters. So please keep sharing this petition with your family, friends and neighbors!
To have a real impact we need to send messages, make calls and show up in person at city and county meetings.
The Environment Committee meeting tonight is a great opportunity to do just that!
