We meet weekly on Thursday evenings via Zoom and meetings are open to all.
This week's zoom meeting and GOLF-IN was well attended and we had the opportunity to speak with some of the folks form Parks and Planning.
They still seem to be pushing for the University of Maryland's idea to take away the best driving range in the county and replace it with a track and field facility and quite literally forever change the footprint and viability of the Golf course.
They will be proposing this terrible idea to the planning board and county in coming weeks. We need everyone's support more than ever. Our local elected officials will not speak to us or return our calls. Some have even gone out of their way to physically avoided us upon approach.
We are not experiencing much of any transparency of process from the University or Parks and Planning people. They will not answer a very simple question:
Why is the University interested in this particular parcel of land when there are abundant alternatives within the same distance perimeter of the campus?
This alone concerns us greatly.
Help us hold your public officials responsible to who they work for, which is the public not the University of Maryland.
