As an owner of reptiles and amphibians, I was outraged when I discovered the living conditions of these animals at certain stores, such as PetSmart and PetCo. I discovered an unbelievable amount of leopard geckos crammed into a 5 gallon tank, with little food and no water. They were so unhealthy and starved, you could visibly see their bones. The tails were shriveled up, and they were very lethargic. They were living in an unsanitary tank, with their waste everywhere. Upon further research, I discovered that PetSmart has been under investigation previously for abuse, and certain lizards and amphibians were frozen, gagged, and killed by gas. Their reptiles would go for days without food, water, or calcium (which is extremely crucial for their diet, deficiency can lead to complications) these pet stores carelessly ship them, and many die in the process. Upon adoption, they are stuffed in plastic containers that look like restaurant containers with only one small hole to breathe from. The juvenile leopard gecko I recently adopted (or saved) from PetSmart is EXTREMELY frightened at everything, and screeches and hisses at times, when someone talks. 

This kind of abuse is unacceptable. Please sign if you have any compassion.
