Make PetSmart ALL Inclusive

Make PetSmart ALL Inclusive
The Issue
Breed discrimination is an issue that leads to the death of millions of dogs, and has allowed humans to turn a blind eye on their own irresponsibility. To go into the topic itself would take too long and distract from the issue at hand (but you can find more on @behindbsl on Instagram)...
As of right now, PetSmart has a policy as follows:
"Day Camp and Group Playtime Requirements
Campers must be at least 4 months of age. We cannot accept intact (unneutered) male dogs, pregnant females or females in heat into day camp. Furthermore, for the safety of all animals and associates, we cannot accept dogs of the “bully breed” classification or wolves/wolf hybrids including American Pit Bull Terriers, Miniature Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, American Bull Dogs, Bull Terriers or mixed breeds that have the appearance or characteristics of one of these breeds. At the discretion of PetSmart, some pets may not be permitted." (via PetSmart.com)
This is appalling and disappointing, coming from one of the largest pet store chains especially. The clear ignorance and lack of understanding is upsetting, of course, but it also further encourages the laws that judge a dog based upon their appearance only.
President of Behind BSL and established canine professional, Skylar Arnold, has reached out to PetSmart numerous times. In response to a simple request for the reasoning behind this policy, PetSmart representatives directed Skylar the manager of her local establishment, who directed her to corporate, who ignored multiple attempts at contact.
Not only do we believe that PetSmart owes their customers, and all dog owners, an explanation, but we strongly feel that they should update their policy. Studies, science, psychology, etc. have proven the failure of breed bans and discrimination. This is why more and more bans are currently being removed. PetSmart has a responsibility, we feel, to educate themselves and enact more effective, justifiable and safe policies. All dogs participating in their services can easily be evaluated, and TRULY aggressive dogs should be turned down. Not discriminated breeds.
Our goal with this petition is to raise awareness, and hopefully urge PetSmart to make a positive change.
