When a politician lies and there is proof of that lie, they should be made to stand down

The Issue

Dawn Butler has tabled an Early Day Motion in the hope that Parliament can wrestle ownership of ministerial control from the prime minister. Early day motions (EDMs) are motions submitted for debate in the House of Commons for which no day has been fixed. By attracting the signatures of other MPs, they can be used to demonstrate the level of parliamentary support for a particular cause or point of view.  It is clear that some members of parliament have lied whilst serving the public and it is time that those who have done so, should be made to step down immediately. They should not be given chances to evade doing the right thing because the Prime Minister is the judge and jury. It is time that the house of commons takes responsibility and therefore put the decision of the member who has lied in the hands of all members collectively. This would mean members who bring the public office into disrepute could be dealt with swiftly. It is time the peoples chosen representatives got the chance to really represent the people without anyone believing they are to powerful to be removed from office by hiding behind their powerful friends
