We have received the response to our petition, which is available to view on the Surrey County Council website using the link below:
FALSE AND MISLEADING STATEMENTS
The response is from Kevin Deanus, a Surrey County Councillor and Cabinet Member for Highways and Community Resilience.
The contents of Councillor Deanus’ response is exceedingly disappointing and it is clear that he has not taken onboard the other facts and evidence that have been provided over the past 4 months.
It appears that Surrey County Council have once again not put forward any viable proposals and it seems they wish to continue to neglect and ignore the issue of speeding on Cottimore Lane.
For anyone who knows Cottimore Lane, you will note that the response is riddled with false and misleading statements.
One would be forgiven for thinking it could have been written by someone who does not know the road very well at all.
However, Councillor Deanus has confirmed that he has actually stepped foot on Cottimore Lane and is aware of what the road looks like in terms of parking, bus stops, grass verges etc, which raises many questions about the misinformation in his response.
We have asked Councillor Deanus whether he perhaps may wish to reconsider and revise some of the comments that have been put forward and we have offered to discuss this further prior to the meeting on Tuesday next week…
