As explained earlier, this petition is for The People of Vietnam [and for all Humanity as well], therefore it's only right that it should be prepared, approved and forwarded by "The People", The Mass--not any individual or organization who may happen to be the first to propose the idea or create this petition. We had repeatedly asked for people among our friends, who would be more qualified and knowledgeable than us [in this area, or in writing our statement] to join us and help us revise the first draft [which is exactly what it was]. We even created a page, and made many people who we think would have the credential, experience, or expertise in improving this petition, before we actually present it to "The Mass", forwarding it to Mainstream Media or Foreign Affairs Personnel/Representatives. Sadly, to date, we still haven't seen anyone [in the group of experts/dignitaries that we asked] coming forward, volunteering to lend us a hand, consulting us on how to improve our statement, showing us how to conduct our course more professionally and effectively. In contrast, some of them actually went out of their way to shame us for inviting them, adding them to the page without their permission [like we would "benefit" from that, somehow]. Some had gone public to point out the flaws in our statement, as a pretext, to excuse themselves from joining our plea to promote this Common Cause. I'd like to clarify, make it clear that the people I am addressing are not Private Citizens. I would not dare intrude into the lives of others without asking for their permissions first. These are the so-called Public Figures aka Nationalists and/or Activists for Human Rights and Democracy, who advocate and promote all kind of causes [mostly for some particular individual's gain or benefit], including raising money to help "Their Causes". It just puzzles our mind that at any instance, they will not hesitate to boldly demand and expect everyone else to contribute to their causes, put up with their slogans, graphics, logos, banners or blogs... as if it's our duty to follow them and share whatever they decided to promote. And now, when it's our turn to approach them for the same support we have provided them through the years, when if they solicited us, they'd turn around bashing us for "daring" to add them to a Page promoting a Cause that has thousands of people signing up to show support [which is more than some of them can ever gather]. I am very disappointed. I don't want to speculate what's the true reason behind their decision to boycott or sabotage us. However, on a more positive note, the tremendously positive response to this Petition is something I could never dare to phantom. By today's end, I think we could very well gain 4,000 Signatures, and on our way to collect 5,000 Signatures as we set out to do, in only a couple more days. We owe this accomplishment to the diligent works and support of many individuals, most of them that I have never known, never talked to, personally, and never had to ask them for permissions [to post our links on their walls]. They just decided to take it upon themselves to promote the Cause--without my recognition or gratitude. No Rewards. No Kickbacks in any way. This just go to show us that the Future of Vietnam, The First Democratic Election in Vietnam... could take place or not... will not depend on the so-called "Lanh Tu Dau Tranh" aka Celebrity-Big-Shot Activists. But it will eventually end up depending on all of us--the regular folks, concerned and decent citizens, who understand what's good for our country, what need to be done--and follow our hearts to Do The Right Thing on our own accord. I salute all those Patriots. Let's do this ourselves. Forget about the PolitStars that are still residing on their "Ivory Towers" looking down on us.
