In 2003, the Animatrix was released—an animated anthology series telling the stories of people within the Matrix. The Animatrix also visualized the rise of AI and the eventual Machine War that was mentioned in the Matrix movies.

In the newest installment of the franchise, Matrix Resurrections, many new concepts are revealed such as a Machine Civil War, machine factions aligning with humans, and the use of bot protocols in the simulation to control humans. 

Since then, Matrix fans have been theorizing about these events, concepts, and their implications, which begs their visualization in an animated medium—a second Animatrix.

This petition should be signed by all Matrix fans who want to see the Matrix universe be expanded into new territory. Let’s petition Warner Bros. and the Wachowskis to make this happen!
