The Issue

Growing up in America, I was deeply influenced by the programming offered by the educational children’s shows on the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS). PBS has been an integral part of my education and awareness. I rely on it today for insightful analysis and unbiased journalism. Like me, millions across the country value and trust public broadcasting, and it now needs saving.

The Corporation for Public Broadcasting has an annual budget of $500 million. Given the recent cut of government funding, we are calling on Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, and Mike Bloomberg to donate $1.5 billion individually or collectively to PBS. Each of these individuals has shown a commitment to public welfare and education in the past. Their donation would to ensure that public broadcasting remains accessible to everyone, regardless of economic status.

Like Andrew Carnegie over 100 years ago, Buffett, Gates, and Bloomberg would provide a cornerstone of American education that benefits millions. Their contributions would not only safeguard the future of quality broadcasting but set a precedent for other philanthropists.

In an age where misinformation and biased reporting are rampant, the need for public media's truthful voice is more critical than ever.

We believe that by contributing, Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, and Mike Bloomberg will help bridge the void left by dwindling federal support and ensure that quality education and factual news remain a staple in American homes.

Join us in this crucial plea for the future of public broadcasting. Let's rally behind PBS to ensure diverse, accurate, and in-depth reporting continues to thrive. Sign this petition to urge Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, and Mike Bloomberg to make a monumental difference today.
