PETITION: VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE IN BCP COUNCIL LEADERSHIP

The Issue

Residents deserve to be heard, not ignored.

We, the undersigned residents, taxpayers, community members and local business supporters, have lost confidence in the leadership of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council under Council Leader Millie Earl, with the council’s administration overseen by Chief Executive Aidan Dunn.

We believe the council is failing to listen to residents, address their concerns and demonstrate the accountability, transparency and responsible leadership our communities deserve.

OUR FOUR KEY CONCERNS
1. Residents Ignored and Trust Broken
Residents have repeatedly sought meaningful engagement and an open public meeting to raise concerns directly with the council’s leadership. We believe residents deserve genuine answers, open dialogue and accountability—not to feel ignored or dismissed by those elected and appointed to serve them.

2. Failing Town Centres and Local Businesses
Our town centres and local businesses need support, investment and a clear vision for the future. Residents are concerned about struggling businesses, empty premises and the impact on our local economy. We demand leadership that listens to businesses and works with communities to protect our town centres.

3. Transparency, Spending and Accountability
Residents deserve clear explanations of council decisions, how public money is spent and whether taxpayers are receiving value for money. Concerns about spending priorities, legal challenges and decision-making must be addressed openly, with accountability for decisions that affect our communities and public finances.

4. No Confidence in the Council’s Leadership
We believe the continued concerns raised by residents demonstrate the urgent need for a change in leadership. Millie Earl must be held accountable for the council’s political direction, while Aidan Dunn must be held accountable for his responsibilities as Chief Executive. Public confidence cannot be restored without meaningful action, transparency and a willingness to listen.

OUR DEMAND: RESIGNATION AND CHANGE

We call for Millie Earl, Leader of BCP Council, and Aidan Dunn, Chief Executive, to resign from their respective positions.

We demand new leadership committed to:
• Listening to residents and providing meaningful opportunities for public engagement.
• Supporting local businesses and revitalising our town centres.
• Protecting taxpayers’ money through responsible spending and transparent decision-making.
• Restoring public trust through openness, accountability and effective leadership.

RESIDENTS MUST COME FIRST
Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole belong to the people who live, work and build their lives here. Residents deserve a council that listens, responds and acts in their interests.
We have no confidence in Millie Earl’s leadership. We believe the council’s performance and accountability must be addressed, and we demand change at the top.

We will not stop asking questions. We will not accept being ignored. We will continue to demand answers from those entrusted with public responsibility.

Sign this petition if you believe residents deserve better, their voices must finally be heard, and BCP Council needs new leadership.

RESIDENTS FIRST. ACCOUNTABILITY NOW.
