The Issue

We are petitioning the Town of Fairfield to continue their cleaning of the invasive slipper shells from Penfield below high tide lines (a.k.a. the wrack line) which is public beach, to Fair Acres Association pentways between Lalley Blvd pentway and Rowland Rd pentway where we access the beach.

There are 500 homes in Fair Acres. These Fair Acres pentways, for which taxes are paid to the town, are in your deed as access for enjoyment to the waters of Long Island Sound and the beach.

This would cost the town zero - 0 dollars as they clean the beach from the marina kayak racks to the Jackie Durell Pavilion kayak racks, every morning of summer. It's approximately another 350' past the kayak racks where once-down-and-back would be sufficient to maintain.

We are asking for the town to extend their cleaning from Lalley pentway to the jetty at Rowland Rd pentway where the public walks from Penfield Beach to the Jetty. (There's a sign stating “public below high tide line to water”).

Time is of the essence. We have 3 1/2 weeks to the 4th of July fireworks when the entire town comes to this beach.

PLEASE sign this petition and SHARE to anyone in the beach area ASAP so we can enjoy our beach for the July 4th holiday and summers to come!.

(We are NOT asking for any donations at this time, please ignore the request for money, that is from Change.org)

Thank you!
