Petition to Town of Lancaster for Immediate Attention Regarding Conditions at 9 Grace Way
Petition to Town of Lancaster for Immediate Attention Regarding Conditions at 9 Grace Way
The Issue
Over 30+ years of neglect and disrepair at 9 Grace Way has resulted in a Rat Infestation which is spreading throughout the neighborhood. Lancaster Code Enforcement, Lancaster Government Officials, and the Erie County Department of Health are fully aware of the situation and are at odds as to how to proceed. Baiting of neighboring properties has occurred, with no resolve as Ruth Nosbish, resident of 9 Grace Way, is refusing to cooperate or comply with officials.
Immediate action is needed from the Town of Lancaster to rectify this increasingly detrimental situation. It is a major health concern for the neighborhood, and its families. Residents are no longer able to use their properties due to this major public health issue. Children and families are no longer able to use their yards out of fear of their health and well- being. Pets are also unable to be outside in their own yards due to the potential contact with rats, but also exposure to life-threatening diseases, which can then be passed onto their owners.
The goal of this petition is to demand immediate action from the Town of Lancaster, Erie County Department of Health, and any other governing agencies. This would include, but is not limited to the following.
- Clean-up of 9 Grace Way to ensure the environment will no longer be suitable for rats to inhabit.
- Bait, trap and remove all rats from 9 Grace Way.
- Bait, trap and remove all rats from all the impacted properties in the neighborhood.
- Continue to monitor the situation, and maintain compliance as needed.
