Re: Reconsideration of the Transfer of Principal Robert Harrison

St. Catherine of Siena Catholic School

To the Director Kimberly Dixon and Superintendent Cassandra Medve-Racine and Senior Administration of the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board,

We, the undersigned parents, guardians, parish members, and community supporters of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic School, respectfully and passionately request that the Board reconsider the decision to transfer our trusted principal, Robert Harrison.

Principal Harrison has demonstrated exceptional leadership rooted in compassion, accountability, and faith. His dedication to student success extends beyond academics — he has cultivated a school culture where every child feels known, valued, and supported.

Most notably, Principal Harrison has been a strong and consistent advocate for our special needs families. He listens carefully to their concerns, works collaboratively with parents and staff, and approaches each child’s needs with empathy and teamwork. He understands that partnership between families and school leadership is essential in creating meaningful, individualized support plans that truly benefit children. For many families, his accessibility and willingness to problem-solve together has made a profound difference in their child’s school experience.

Principal Harrison is present and visible within the school community. He builds meaningful relationships with students across all grade levels. He knows our children by name, engages with them daily, and ensures they feel safe and heard. His leadership style fosters trust — not only among students, but also among staff and families.

Under his leadership, St. Catherine of Siena has seen measurable academic growth. He has implemented strategic instructional initiatives and data-driven approaches that have elevated student performance and strengthened testing outcomes beyond provincial standards. These improvements reflect thoughtful planning, collaboration with educators, and a commitment to excellence.

Additionally, Principal Harrison has led the implementation of technology initiatives that have modernized our learning environment. His technology plans have enhanced classroom engagement, supported differentiated instruction, and better prepared our students for future academic demands.

Leadership stability is especially critical for our most vulnerable students. Transitions in administration can disrupt established supports, relationships, and carefully built systems. For children who rely heavily on routine, trust, and advocacy, continuity in leadership is essential to their well-being and success.

Our request is grounded in advocacy for our children and our community. We are asking the Board to recognize the strong, positive, and measurable impact Principal Harrison has had on St. Catherine of Siena Catholic School.

Therefore, we respectfully request that the Board:

Reconsider the transfer of Principal Robert Harrison.

We believe that Catholic education thrives when families and leadership work together in trust and transparency. Our community is united in its support of Principal Harrison and in its desire to maintain the stable, inclusive, and high-performing environment he has helped build.

Our children deserve consistency, advocacy, and leadership that has proven to elevate both their academic achievement and personal well-being.

Thank you for your time and thoughtful consideration.

Respectfully,

The Undersigned Members of the St. Catherine of Siena Catholic School Community
