Today marks an important milestone in our campaign.
Because of your support, this petition has grown into a powerful voice for Malawian consumers. Together, we demonstrated that concerns about internet affordability, billing transparency, bundle value, and service quality are shared by thousands, not just a few individuals.
Following the petition, we engaged constructively with the Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA). We also conducted an independent public survey to gather additional evidence on consumers' experiences. The findings, together with the petition and supporting data, were formally presented to MACRA during a productive meeting.
We are encouraged by the positive engagement and willingness to listen. While recent actions on tariff-related compensation are a step in the right direction, we emphasized that broader issues, including billing transparency, value for money, affordability, and consumer protection,still require sustained attention and long-term reform.
This achievement belongs to every person who signed, shared, and supported this initiative. Your participation has shown that informed, respectful civic engagement can make a difference.
Although we have reached our signature goal, our work does not end here. We will continue engaging stakeholders constructively and will keep you informed of any meaningful developments.
