The residents of Rockford are calling on the City Council and Mayor to urgently STOP DATA CENTERS.

Energy-hungry data centers guzzle water unsustainably, drive up electricity bills, create air and noise pollution, disrupt local agriculture and wildlife, and have been linked to increased risks of rare cancers and miscarriages because of water contamination.

To the City Council and Mayor, we say: 

Please support an immediate halt to this rapidly increasing threat by doing everything in your power to STOP DATA CENTERS immediately!

The city must stop the Monarch Energy data center project IMMEDIATELY

Rockford city officials have said that the Monarch Energy data center can’t be stopped for legal reasons. But no one, including the current and previous mayor, have shown the public any document that unequivocally binds the city to allow the data center to proceed.

We urgently ask the Mayor and City Council to do everything in their power to stop the Monarch Energy data center project.
