Protect Wildlife. Save Lives. Build Safter Roads. 

To the United States Congress, State Legislatures, Departments of Transportation, and Wildlife Agencies:

We, the undersigned citizens, respectfully urge lawmakers to pass legislation that invests in wildlife crossing infrastructure and other proven measures to reduce wildlife-vehicle collisions across America. 

Every year, wildlife collisions result in:

• Human injuries and fatalities
• Billions of dollars in vehicle damage
• Higher insurance costs
• Increased emergency response expenses
• Significant harm to wildlife populations and ecosystems

Modern solutions already exist. 

Wildlife overpasses, underpasses, fencing, smart detection systems, and improved roadway planning have dramatically reduced collisions in areas where they have been implemented. 

We ask our elected officials to:

1. Fund wildlife crossings in high-collision areas. 
2. Install wildlife fencing that directs animals to safe crossings. 
3. Improve warning technology and highway signage. 
4. Expand research to identify collision hotspots.
5. Encourage partnerships between transportations agencies, wildlife experts, and local communities. 
6. Establish dedicated federal and state funding for wildlife safety infrastructure. 

Protecting wildlife also protects families, first responders, and taxpayers.
