Friends, neighbors, it has recently come to our attention that a new data center development has been proposed in Barrington Hills on Penny Rd near Route 68. This development goes against everything we stand for in terms of preventing commercial development of our beautiful village. In addition to having no place in our charming, residential village, data centers are a huge drain on our natural water resources and create a deffening hum that has proven harmful to nearby residents and wildlife in other cities.
Allowing one development would set the precedent for further development of our finite land and water resources and cause undue suffering for all residents of this tranquil community. As a resident myself of Barrington Hills, I stand to protect our property freedoms from commercial development and create a safe space for our children and families to flourish unperturbed from the disruption of a data center.
I implore you to make your opposition known at the special Planning Commission meeting on Feb 2, 6:30pm at Countryside Elementary. Please visit and sign the petition to oppose the development here.
