At Monday’s City Council meeting (Oct 6), residents once again called for accountability over the SK hynix rezoning.
None of the councilors who voted Yes on May 5 signed the Full Disclosure Agreement — a simple pledge stating they would not put residents at risk of toxic exposure or groundwater contamination.
If SK hynix is truly safe, why won’t our elected officials sign their names to it?
Some council members continue to express “complete faith in PRF” or claim that reversing the rezone would not solve the problem. But where does that blind confidence come from — and who benefits from it? PRF has shown no interest in keeping its promise that it would not move forward if the community had concerns, and it remains entangled in the recent IEDC audit and state scrutiny for conflicts of interest and ethical lapses.
PRF does not hold absolute authority over city land use. The City Council bears the moral and legal responsibility to ensure every industrial project meets the highest standards of safety, transparency, and community protection.
More than 3,000 residents have spoken: We deserve leadership grounded in truth and accountability — not loyalty to powerful institutions.
