As we look ahead to the upcoming May 5 City Council meeting, let’s refocus on what responsible decision-making looks like:
· Aligning plans with community values like health, safety, and livability
· Weighing long-term trade-offs, not just short-term economic gain
· Listening to diverse perspectives, especially from residents and independent third parties, not the ones selected by SK Hynix or PRF
· Using data and facts, not just promises from corporate partners
· Taking time to reflect, especially when around 1,700 people have signed in opposition
This rezoning isn’t just a land use change. It’s a test of how seriously our city officials take public input, environmental responsibility, and the kind of future we’re building for West Lafayette.
What You Can Do Now:
· Email city councilors and respectfully urge them to follow APC, stand with the community and vote NO on the rezone
· Prepare for the May 5 meeting: show up, bring a friend, and make your voice heard
· Share the petition, Facebook, and Website, and help others get informed
Thank you for continuing to advocate for a West Lafayette that grows responsibly, with its residents at the center of the conversation.
