Big news: from Dave Bangert’s latest coverage – SK hynix “makes its case” (click here to read) , SK Hynix publicly stated it always intended to use both Site A and Site B for heavy industry, with full support from the City and Purdue Research Foundation.
They admitted they didn’t think to engage the public until now, and described that lack of community consideration as just a “small regret.”
That’s not just disappointing, it’s telling.
This plan was in motion long before residents knew anything about it.
PRF’s CEO also said this: “If there is any community concern, the project will not be moved forward.”
It’s time to hold them to that promise.
Now, the City Council must hear from YOU.
If you oppose this rezone (Z-2969), you must submit your name and address to be counted in the official record. This is completely separate from signing the Change.org petition or speaking at the APC.
You have two options, and you can do either or both.
Option 1 – Fill out the official form
Name and Address Form – we will submit this as petition for opposition to Z-2969
Option 2 – Email the City Clerk

Subject: Official Opposition to Zoning Case for SK Hynix
Dear City Clerk and city councilors,
My name is [your full name], and I live at [your full address]. I am writing to officially and respectfully oppose rezoning 121 acres of land northeast corner of Kalberer Road and Yeager Road from R1 (Residential) to I3 (Heavy Industrial) for the SK hynix project.
The proposed site is too close to our homes, parks, daycares, schools, and senior living communities. This plan is not responsible development, and it puts corporate interests over community well-being. I ask that you record my opposition in the public record and share it with the West Lafayette City Council.
Sincerely,
[your name]
[your address]
Let’s show them what overwhelming community concern looks like.
Share this widely. Make sure your neighbors are counted. Let’s hold PRF and our elected officials accountable to the people, not just the project.
Responsible development means putting people first. Let’s speak up before May 5 council meeting.
