Dear Friends and Community Members,

We have a major update:
The April 7 City Council vote on the SK Hynix rezoning has been pulled and will be delayed. Read Dave Bangert's report: Rezone request for $3.8B SK hynix facility on hold, for now.

The Purdue Research Foundation (PRF) requested the delay—not because they’ve changed their goal, but because public opposition is growing.

Let’s not forget what happened when they thought no one was watching:

Only residents within 200 feet of a heavy industrial rezoning were notified.
The APC hearing was scheduled during spring break.

It may have been legal, but was it right?

They want this land—right next to neighborhoods—for a company's heavy industry plant.

And now, after the APC voted 9–5 to recommend denial, and community pressure grew, they’ve hit pause.
But their strategy hasn’t changed. They’re regrouping, launching PR, and preparing to push the same plan—on the same land.

This delay happened because of you.
YOU SIGNED THE PETITION.

YOU SHOWED UP.

YOU SPOKE.

YOU HELPED SHIFT THE MOMENTUM.

Let’s keep it going:

· Keep sharing the petition (https://chng.it/BgdFDqp9nP)

· Keep contacting City Councilors (click here) and  City Mayor (eeaster@westlafayette.in.gov), remind them: the APC already said NO.

· Get ready—town halls and the final vote are coming.

Heavy industry should not be by our homes, your homes, or anyone’s homes. Let’s keep West Lafayette safe, livable, and community-first.
And let’s not forget the sign a child held up at the hearing:

“Do not risk my health.”

Meet soon – with next steps.
For now—thank you. This delay is proof: your voice matters.
