Subject: Opposition to Rezoning (Z-2969) & Request to Postpone Vote

Dear APC Members,

I am writing to oppose the proposed rezoning (Z-2969) of 134 acres near Kalberer and Yeager Road from R1 (residential) to I3 (heavy industrial). This site is directly next to established neighborhoods, a senior living community, two daycares, parks, and an elementary school.

This rezoning would have serious negative impacts on our community, including:

-Increased pollution and industrial traffic near homes, schools, and parks.
-Lower property values for surrounding neighborhoods.
-Health and safety risks for families, children, and seniors.
-Contradiction to West Lafayette’s Strategic Plan, which prioritizes responsible land use, housing needs, and community well-being.
Additionally, the public hearing is scheduled during Purdue and West Lafayette school spring breaks, making it difficult for many affected residents to attend. I respectfully request that the vote be postponed to allow full community participation.

Please confirm the receipt of my opposition and request.
