Dear neighbors,
Our petition has 850+ signatures, showing overwhelming opposition to rezoning residential land into heavy industrial use. Thank you for standing up for our community!
Media Coverage is Growing :
WFYI Public Media is interested in interviews.
Local reporter Dave Bangert (Based in Lafayette) is covering the issue. https://www.basedinlafayette.com/p/a-new-road-and-sk-hynixs-chip-plans
The city is already investing in infrastructure to support this project, even though the rezoning has not been approved.
More media coverage means more pressure on city officials.
What You Can Do:
Keep reaching out to media outlets.
Write to Purdue Exponent, let them know how PRF’s actions are impacting the community. The student body has a powerful influence, and we can’t let PRF’s decisions tarnish Purdue’s reputation with harmful rezoning.

What We Learned From Experts: Semiconductor packaging is NOT a warehouse—it involves high water consumption, toxic chemical usage, water and air pollution, constant industrial traffic from semi-truck deliveries and waste disposal, and massive energy demand.
West Lafayette already has industrial zones that could support this project. Why rezone a residential area instead?
Where Things Stand Now
--City Council still has the final vote in April
--The rezoning petition leaves the intended use blank, meaning any heavy industry could move in.
--The March 19 APC hearing if not postponed—we must show up in large numbers.
Next Steps – What You Can Do
Attend the APC Hearing – March 19 @ 6PM
Tippecanoe County Office Building, 20 N 3rd St, Lafayette.
