Petition to stop Goa from getting Sold !!
The Issue
I am deeply troubled by the actions of the Goa government, as its relentless pursuit to sell our precious forests to outsiders is tearing apart our beloved state piece by piece. As a proud Goikar, I cannot stand by while the lush greenery and natural heritage that defines us is sacrificed for profit, without even consulting the rightful owners – the villagers who have lived in harmony with these lands for generations.
The situation has grown dire with projects like the Lodha project in Karapur, which has sparked a massive revolt against the Chief Minister and Town and Country Planning (TCP) Minister. These projects are clear examples of how our land is being sold off without respect for the villagers' consent or the environment. The 39A Act, which should protect us, appears to be overlooked or misused.
Moreover, the rampant corruption has paved the way for new casinos, polluting our sacred Mandovi River and further threatening the essence of what Goa truly stands for. Goa's identity is not for sale; it belongs to us, the Goan people. Our forests, our culture, and our legacy are not commodities to be traded. We must safeguard our motherland for future generations.
I call on the Goa government and relevant authorities to immediately cease the sale and transfer of our forest lands to outside developers. Implement stricter regulations, ensure local community consultation and prioritize environmental protection over profit.
Join me in this cause to preserve the spirit and sanctity of Goa. Let's stand together to protect our homeland and ensure a sustainable future that respects the rights and culture of Goans. Please sign this petition to demand action now.
